Introducing me
OK, so here I am again. My most pressing matter of the day is done and now I get on with the rest of my duties. I've been unemployed for a few months now, so my most pressing matter is finding a job. Not any old job, a good one. One that meets the requirements of the CGA (I'm working on the 4th of 5 levels of the Certified General Accountants designation) and preferably close-ish to home. I did the hour commute to work for 5 years and if I can have less of a drive, that'd be awesome, although as time goes on, that's becoming less and less important. That's not to say I haven't applied or interviewed at "big commute" kind of locations earlier on, you know, I'm just hoping. I'm looking for an intermediate level accountant position. Preferably at a corporate office and preferably not dealing with taxation matters (they're not my favourite). But of course, after 4 months on unemployment, I'm becoming more and more flexible. By January, H&R Bock might start looking pretty good -especially because they'll certainly have a location "close-ish" to home. Know anyone who's hiring? I'd be glad to send my resume!

I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteOK, that's a lie. I'm loving unemployment and hoping I can get at least several more months out of it. ;) And this time I'm refusing to take a high-falutin job... I just wanna work at a coffeeshop or a bookstore or something FUN. The heck with the corporate thing, I soooo don't fit in there!
Hope your search gives you what you're hoping for.
Peace.
